Abu Dhabi: The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has advised Indians against working on illegal fishing vessels or trawlers moving from the UAE to Iran. The Iranian Navy is checking and apprehending all illegal vessels entering the Iranian territorial waters and the vessels, which trespass into the Iranian waters will now, not be pushed back, but impounded, said an advisory issued by the embassy on Wednesday.
In view of this all Indian emigrants are advised not to take up work on such fishing vessels or trawlers moving to Iran till further notice, as it may lead to their possible detention, arrest or even endanger their lives. They may also face possible legal action leading to fines by the Iranian authorities or serving jail term in Iran, said the advisory.
