Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, on Monday swore in the newly-appointed members of the council.
The new members who took the oath included Shaikh Diab Bin Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Department of Transport, Saif Mohammad Al Hajiri, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development, Falah Mohammad Al Ahbabi, Chairman of the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities, and Mohammad Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain, Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-chairman of the council, Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, other Shaikhs, ministers and the members of the council.
Shaikh Mohammad congratulated the new members on the trust bestowed upon them by the leadership and wished them success in discharging their fresh assignments. He thanked the former members for their efforts during their tenure that played an important role in the emirate’s progress.
Shaikh Mohammad said the new phase of development requires creative and innovative ideas due to the unprecedented and rapidly changing world. “This phase needs us to keep pace with this development in terms of work and thoughts — a move that can be done by enhancing economic diversification, building knowledge economy and investing in human capital, with education being given a top priority as the main driver of development,” he said.
He urged all officials to boost the concepts of corporate excellence, positivity and the spirit of initiative as the key to achieve the aspirations of the UAE and its citizens and expatriate residents to be provided with the highest standards of living, well-being and happiness.
“We are one team and our goals and ambitions unite us. Our goals can only be achieved through sincere efforts and dedication by Emirati citizens, whose country has become a role model for those who pursue excellence and success,” Shaikh Mohammad said.
