Abu Dhabi: Three Emirati babies were born within the first few hours of the 45th UAE National Day on December 2, at Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children in Abu Dhabi.

The first baby was born at 1.01am. The baby boy, who was named Mohammad, is the third child of his family, but the first boy, his father, Sultan Al Hammadi, said.

“His birth on the UAE’s National Day was a surprise for us, and now the day has become doubly memorable for us. We are very thankful for this blessing,” Al Hammadi said.

Dr Rihan Saafan, consultant, obstetrics and gynaecology at the hospital who delivered the baby said, “The 3.5kg baby was due in 10 days but decided to join the family on this special occasion for all and double the joy of his parents. Both the baby and the mother are in good health.”

The second baby was born at 9.36am, and weighed 3.1kg and is the second boy of his family.

His father, Ali Mohammad Al Yihyaee, said, “The baby is in good health and we have named him Salman, We are extremely proud to have him join us on the 45th UAE National Day. From here, we would like to congratulate the UAE leaders, government and people on this very special day, which is very dear to our hearts.”

Salama, the third baby, was born at 10am, and weighed 2.45kg.

The girl is the third child of the family, but the first girl.

Her father, Obaid Sultan Obaid Salem, said, “We are blessed to have our baby girl join the family on this day. This is a very special occasion for us all.”

Vino Nallaya, CEO of Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women and Children, said, “We are happy to welcome three newborns during the first hours of the 45th UAE National Day.”

With the three new arrivals, 1,889 babies have been born at the hospital since it opened in October 2015.

The hospital distributed flowers and gifts for all patients who are spending the UAE National Day at the hospital.
