Al Ain: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Wednesday attended the graduation ceremony of 473 students (36th batch) of the UAE University (UAEU) in Al Ain City.
Speaking on the occasion, Shaikh Mohammad stressed that the UAE leadership and people are counting on Emirati youth who are armed with knowledge, and have faith in God and their nation, so that they can become leaders and take over from those who preceded them. He said that those who preceded Emirati youth have diligently served their nation and utilised their expertise and knowledge for the sake of boosting the UAE’s status, helping the nation accomplish many cultural and humanitarian achievements.
Shaikh Mohammad said that those achievements have bolstered the UAE’s standing among other nations, firmly establishing it and placing it in an advanced position on the map for technology, science and humanitarian development.
He said that this, in addition to developments in other fields, are what we seek for our people — to achieve sustainable development and happiness for our citizens and its future generations.
Shaikh Mohammad hailed the prestigious scientific standard that UAE University has attained, and praised the dynamic development the university has achieved since it was established by the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and thanks to the care and attention provided by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The ceremony, which was attended by Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, began with the arrival of Shaikh Mohammad at the hall.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of UAEU, delivered a speech, thanking Shaikh Mohammad for patronising the celebration and welcoming the guests. Al Nuaimi also extended his thanks to President Shaikh Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and to Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates for their sustained support to the educational progress in the UAE.
The event was attended by Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Mohammad Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain; Shaikh Ahmad Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation; Shaikh Mansour Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum; and Shaikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director-General of Dubai Department of Information, as well as other Shaikhs and senior officials.
