Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Friday opened the Museum of the Future, one of the 6th World Government Summit’s key events.
Organised by the Dubai Future Foundation, the museum offers an interactive experience that allows visitors to learn about the advanced skills and capabilities of artificial intelligence and its ability to influence many aspects of our lives as well as its enormous potential, which can be invested in improving the performance of various vital sectors in government work.
“Artificial intelligence will add nearly $15 trillion to the world’s total output over the next 12 years and we seek to play a major role in this scientific movement,” Shaikh Mohammad said. “The museum is a forward-looking experience that will add value to the work of governments all around the world and the development process will not make major leaps without harnessing modern artificial intelligence techniques.
“We seek to make the UAE the region’s hub for artificial intelligence techniques as our government is setting a role model for other governments based on harnessing technologies to lead the development progress.”
Shaikh Mohammad said changing technologies will shape the future in the country.
“The life in the UAE will change and services will be developed over the course of the coming decade, thanks to artificial intelligence technologies,” he said.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince; Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future and chairman of the World Government Summit Organisation; Uhoud Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness and Quality of Life, and Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence.
Five stations
Running until February 13 at Madinat Jumeirah, the museum will provide a live experience to learn about the potential of artificial intelligence through five interactive stations.
The first station will highlight the innovative and creative side of robots while the second station will review the utilisation of artificial intelligence in the decision-making process at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The third station will take stock of the challenges and difficulties that may result from using artificial intelligence, while visitors of the fourth station will learn about the risks of artificial intelligence such as using drones in carrying out actions that threaten the security and safety of the community. Visitors of the fifth station will get to know about hybrid artificial intelligence.
