Abu Dhabi: Thirty Yemenis wounded in Al Houthi attacks have arrived in the UAE to receive treatment, marking the second batch of civilians to receive such assistance.
The move is in line with the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is being closely followed up by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The 30 Yemenis will receive treatment for injuries ranging from arm, leg and skull fractures to deformities resulting from the war-like situation in their country.
The Yemenis, who arrived at Abu Dhabi International Airport, were transported to the UAE thanks to close coordination between the Emirates Red Crescent and the UAE Armed Forces. The initiative reflects the UAE’s solidarity with Yemen and the UAE’s humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The Yemenis were received upon their arrival by officials from various UAE medical authorities. Ambulances from different hospitals transported them to hospitals. Hospitals also set up committees to follow up on the status of the injured and ensure that all their needs are met.
