Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday (Monday) met his media team during a visit to the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO).

Shaikh Mohammad inquired about the flow of work at GDMO. He was also briefed about developments on projects and initiatives that are being implemented by the media team. The plans are a part of the team’s strategic plan that is being improved as part of Dubai’s comprehensive development of goals and objectives specified by Dubai Strategic Plan 2021.

Shaikh Mohammad praised the ideas and projects that are being carried out by GDMO during the coming period. He expressed his satisfaction with efforts that complement Dubai’s general goals and that contribute to extending effective bridges of cooperation with local and global media.

Shaikh Mohammad emphasised the importance of exerting even more efforts during the coming period, and increasing levels of cooperation with various government bodies in Dubai, particularly since the UAE is on a path to a new phase of strong growth in all sectors.

He added that Dubai is preparing to shift to a new level in its march for development through massive projects and initiatives in various avenues like economic and social development, which will consolidate the emirate’s status among the fastest growing cities in the world.

Shaikh Mohammad told the media team that preserving success requires more effort in order to encourage reaching new and higher standards. He also pointed out the role played by the media, particularly in the current moment of time in which the Arab region is facing many challenges that require everyone to unify their efforts and focus on details in order to overcome them.

“I closely follow up on GDMO’s efforts, and I appreciate the projects and ideas it proposes to provide a suitable environment that enhances channels of communication between the media and all Dubai government bodies. This reflects our keenness to strengthen principles of transparency and openness to ensure that media can inform people about the government’s efforts in all fields,” said Shaikh Mohammad.

Shaikh Mohammad also stressed the importance of keeping abreast with the ongoing immense global technological developments in the field of communications. He urged the team to review these developments and work on acquiring up-to-date equipment that will reaffirm the capabilities of GDMO in fulfilling its objectives.
