Duba: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the promotion and retirement of a number of officials in Dubai Municipality.

As per the orders, four Dubai Municipality officials have been promoted to the post of assistant director-general and five to the post of department director.

Meanwhile, administrative amendments included the retirement of eight employees, as per operations to continue developing the municipality. This will open up opportunities for young cadres and provide them with a chance to contribute to enhancing the performance of various vital sectors in the emirate.

The following officials have been promoted — Engineer Dawood Al Hajeri as assistant director-general of the engineering and planning sector; Engineer Khalid Al Sharif as assistant director-general of the Environment, Health and Safety Control Sector; Taleb Julfar as assistant director-general for Environmental and Public Health Services; and Ahmad Abdul Kareem as assistant director-general of the General Support Sector.

Other promotions included Engineer Layali Al Mulla as director of the Building Department; Engineer Najeeb Mohammad Saleh as director of the Department of Planning; Engineer Fahd Ahmad Al Awadi as director of the department of sewage and irrigation; Engineer Eman Al Bastaki as director of the Department of Food Safety; and Abdullah Khalfan as acting director of the Department of Legal Affairs.

Meanwhile, the orders included the retirement of Khalifa Hareb, director of the Asset Management Department; Rashad Bukash, executive director of Architectural Heritage; Hawa Al Bastaki, executive director of Dubai Central Laboratory; Humaid Al Merri, director of the Transportation Department; Abdul Hakim Malek, director of the Department of Geographic Information Systems; Esmail Al Banna, director of the Department of Recreational Facilities; Khalil Hussain, director, and Mohammad Al Nouri, specialist.

Shaikh Mohammad expressed his gratitude for the efforts exerted by the retired officials and their contributions during their tenure. He wished them success in their future endeavours.
