Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Tuesday received Ebrahim Boubacar Keita, President of Mali, at Al Shatea Palace here.

Keita bestowed the National Order of Mali on Shaikh Mohammad in recognition of his efforts to bolster bilateral ties and cooperation between the UAE and Mali.

Shaikh Mohammad and Keita held discussions on shared ideas concerning current avenues of cooperation between Mali and the UAE.

Shaikh Mohammad reaffirmed that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen on strengthening and developing its relations with African nations in order to achieve mutual benefits. He pointed out that the UAE and Mali are linked by exemplary relations and that there are several avenues for cooperation between the two nations, in addition to multiple opportunities for setting up partnerships that will serve development efforts.

Keita expressed his happiness at visiting the UAE, and stressed that Mali is keen on developing its relations with the UAE in various fields, particularly in the areas of economy, development and investment. He thanked the UAE for supporting the development efforts in Mali.

Shaikh Mohammad and Keita exchanged views on a number of topics concerning regional and international developments, as well as other topics of mutual interest.

The meeting was attended by a number of senior officials.
