Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday received General Joseph Votel, Commander of US Central Command, who is currently on a visit to the UAE.
Shaikh Mohammad and Gen Votel discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them.
They reviewed coordination and cooperation between the two countries in military and defence areas, in addition to joint efforts in the fight against extremism and terrorism.
Shaikh Mohammad and Votel highlighted the importance of strengthening the UAE-US cooperation to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries and maintain security and stability in the region.
They exchanged views on the latest developments and current events in the region as well as a number of issues of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Yousuf Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the US, Barbara A. Leaf, US Ambassador in the UAE, and other senior military officials.
