Cairo: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday held talks with Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al Sissi over bilateral relations and a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Al Sissi welcomed Shaikh Mohammad and exchanged Ramadan greetings. They asked Allah Almighty to bless the two countries and peoples with progress and prosperity and guide them to realise their aspirations.

They discussed the latest regional and international developments with a focus on the growing terrorism in the region and entire world. The two leaders underlined the need for Arab countries to stand together in the face of terrorism, which pose a threat to the region’s stability and security.

Shaikh Mohammad and the Egyptian President discussed the ways to bolster the ties between their countries in the best interests of their peoples.

Shaikh Mohammad reiterated the UAE’s firm stand by Egypt in countering terrorism and extremism.

“The UAE is keen to strengthen cooperation with Egypt and other Arab brothers to restore stability in the region and thwart suspicious agendas and malicious designs aiming at igniting chaos and turmoil in the region and undermining the security, stability and safety of the Arab peoples,” Shaikh Mohammad said.

Al Sissi lauded the UAE’s role in enhancing joint Arab action.

Earlier in the day, Shaikh Mohammad was received upon arrival by the Egyptian President.

Shaikh Mohammad is accompanied by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Ali Hammad Al Shamsi, deputy Secretary General of the Supreme National Security Council, Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, and Mohammad Mubarak Al Mazrouni, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court.
