Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, welcomed separately Horacio Cartes, President of Paraguay; Filip Vujanovic, President of Montenegro; and Luis Guillermo Solis, President of Costa Rica, at his palace in Zabeel on Tuesday.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, was present. Shaikh Mohammad discussed with President Cartes several issues related to the bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Paraguay, including the development of economic, investment and tourism opportunities, and encouraging the private sector in both countries to establish joint investments.

Shaikh Mohammad also discussed the development of bilateral relations between the UAE and Montenegro, including the creation of investment partnerships between the two countries, particularly in the private sector.

Shaikh Mohammad and President of Costa Rica exchanged views on prospects of economic, investment and tourism cooperation between the two countries.

President Solis invited Shaikh Mohammad to visit Costa Rica, which Shaikh Mohammad accepted.

Shaikh Mohammad also stressed the importance of establishing balanced ties with the three countries, while promoting communication and developing cooperation in the fields of tourism, energy, real estate, transport, among others.

The presidents of Paraguay, Montenegro and Costa Rica lauded the UAE’s leading position in vital sectors like clean energy, infrastructure, tourism and urban development.

The meetings were attended by Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and chairman and chief executive of Emirates airline and Group; Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy; Dr Anwar Mohammad Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Reem Ebrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation; and other senior officials.
