Abu Dhabi: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, expressed their pride in youth and their aspirations in all fields.
In statements issued on the occasion of International Youth Day, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed emphasised that youth are the future. Youth shoulder the responsibility of creating their future, as well as the future of coming generations, that will culminate in achieving national objectives and meeting the hopes and ambitions of the UAE, they said.
Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid said: “The UAE is a success story, and its heroes are the youth. They are the decision-makers in the public and private sectors. And with youth, we shall achieve first place.
“The youth are our hope for the present and future. They are our most valuable resource. Youth build nations. Emirati youth have been successful not just locally, but also internationally.
“The UAE has become an inspiring global model for youth. The UAE government has created the best model for empowering youth. We have appointed a minister who is in their age group, who alongside her team of youth, has set up youth councils in the UAE, ministries and institutions around the world to give the youth a voice, so that they can be heard.”
Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed pointed out that a nation is developed by the resolve of men and mettle of youth. “We are proud of the achievements of Emirati youth in all fields. We are certain that Emirati youth, who firmly hold on to their identity and values and are confident in their capabilities, can write stories of success and inspiration throughout the course of the nation’s march,” said Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed.
“The UAE’s success story lies in the empowerment of youth so that they can contribute to the process of building their nation,” he added.
Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed also called on youth to intensify their efforts, because they shoulder a national responsibility that they are fully capable of seeing through.
