Dubai: Emirates Post Group is advising customers sending parcels to international destinations to insure them against loss or damage for a nominal fee for peace of mind.

The insurance can be secured while booking at any of the 118 post offices across the country, officials said in a statement on Tuesday.

Ebrahim Bin Karam, EPG chief commercial officer, said that “rising volumes of parcels reflect high customer satisfaction for the service. But for total peace of mind, customers are advised to buy insurance for the parcels. The postal insurance service allows the sender to insure valuable items, such as important letters and parcels, against loss or damage in whole or in part. Our partnership with various postal organisations around the world guarantees reliable and speedy service.”

Emirates Post Group has recorded a rapid increase in the volume of parcels and packages, fuelled by rising demand from expatriates who send parcels to their home countries and companies looking for effective solutions.

Customers can send parcels to all parts of the world under various options for delivery ranging from a few days to a couple of weeks’ shipment time.
