Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has been nominated for its “Unified Equivalency and Attestation System” app in the final stage of “Best m-Government Service Award” in the Education Category. Winners of the award will be honoured on the sidelines of the upcoming World Government Summit, which will be held in Dubai from February 8 to 10, under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, with participation from countries, organisations and ministries from around the world.

The Unified Equivalency and Attestation System app is designed to provide a unified system in the country that provides equivalency of certificates to holders of academic qualifications from educational institutions abroad, and attestation of certificates awarded by educational institutions inside the state, so as to enhance the electronic and smart services that the Ministry offers to its customers.

The app has a specialised design to provide a smart electronic mechanism for all procedures of certificate equivalency or attestation, from informing the customers of the required documents until they receive the equalised certificate to the electronic payment procedures for the service.

The application also has other features such as inquiry about Accreditation of Academic Programmes Service before registering in the programme, Application Status, and Grievances Service on Decision of Equation Committee in case of not obtaining the equalised certificate.

The application uses RFID and NFC techniques for the attestation of the academic qualifications issued by educational institutions inside the state, which enable the student, as soon as they get the certificate, to read the smart chip fixed on it, in order to save time and effort, and reduce the cases of forgery of certificates.
