Abu Dhabi: Emirati engineer Fatima Jasem Al Zaabi, received Microsoft certificate of appreciation in recognition of her utilisation of Microsoft PowerPoint in an innovative way to create architectural designs for villas.

She noted that she has received an invitation from US President Barack Obama for dinner to celebrate this global achievement as the first in the world to innovate a programme for the designing of villas and buildings through “PowerPoint”.

Fatima Al Zaabi also pointed out that the US President’s honour came after her gaining a certificate from “Microsoft” as the sole owner of “Power Point“ , “Excel”, and ‘‘Word,” and is authorised to give certificates of scientific innovation to the owners of inventions in these programmes

Fatima said: “ I dedicate this achievement to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for supporting the women’s march in the state, as he provides various kinds of material and moral support to enhance women’s empowerment.”

She also dedicated her achievement to His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for his vision to make the country the first in all fields.

In addition, she also dedicated this accomplishment to General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces for his continuous support to the scientific march. She also hailed the support of Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy National Security Advisor in accomplishing this global achievement.

She also commended the role and efforts of Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

She further pointed out that after reaching this global recognition where she received a certificate from Microsoft Corporation for her achievement, she wanted her joy to be completed through obtaining an Emarati award.

So she set out to achieve this success at the local level through the award of Shaikha Shamsa Bint Suhail for creativity and was welcomed by Dr. Moza Ghobash, Chairperson of the Award’s Board of Trustees and was nominated after presenting the scientific article she innovated.

Fatima Al Zaabi added that her goal behind this invention is to create a generation which is highly interested in architecture to contribute to building and construction in the UAE, pointing out that this programme is not directed to architects alone as it can also be used by all those interested in construction engineering such as students and others, whether as specialists or not.

She also said that her programme can assist all those finding difficulties in engineering programmes as her Power Point programme will open up new horizons to whoever needs them.

She also wished that the UAE will benefit from her innovation to increase the number of people interested in construction to increase the construction process in the country, and GCC countries as a whole.

Fatima concluded that she also wrote a book titled Learn how to design villas for the first time with Power Point which included her scientific idea and innovation.
