Dubai: The government buildings of Dubai are quite impressive when you compare them to some of the office around the world.

But one French couple recently confused a Dubai Municipality office for a shopping centre.

On its social media account, Dubai Municipality has shared a photo of a French tourist as he stumbled into the government department while searching for a restaurant.

According to officials at Dubai Municipality, the Frenchman and his wife were initially at Zabeel Park. After spending some time in Dubai’s parks, the couple then saw a large shiny building, which they believed was a shopping centre with a food court.

But it was reall Al Kifaf's municipality centre.

Government officials had to quickly clarify that there was in fact, no food court available, and the building was actually Dubai Municipality’s office Al Kifaf Centre.

The entire incident, however, did brighten everyone’s day.

In Dubai Municipality’s post on Facebook, they said: “Dubai Municipality's AlKifaf Center succeeded in achieving the concept of a 7-star service in terms of cleanliness and high quality services' standards where a French tourist and his wife entered the center looking for a restaurant to have lunch after a trip in Zabeel Park where the tourists thought that the center is one of Dubai's shopping centers.”
