Dubai: A kindergartens project worth Dh23 million has been recently completed by Dubai Municipality at Al Barsha and Al Warqa’a areas, an official said on Saturday.
The project comes in line with the municipality’s keenness to provide children with enabling environments that help sharpen their skills and equip them with the necessary qualifications.
Commenting on the project, Eng Hussain Nasser Lootah, director-general of Dubai Municipality, said the municipality is always focusing on providing key services and facilities during its planning for each area, including kindergartens.
This project, Lootah added, aims to support the educational sector in Dubai and provide adequate environments for an integrated educational system in order to further invest in the next generations by equipping them with the necessary skills and capabilities that qualify them to continue the UAE’s progress of development, protect its achievements and consolidate its regional and international position.
Each kindergarten stretches over an area of 26,000 square feet and is built according to green building specifications. Each comprise ten classrooms, activities hall, multi-purpose hall, indoor rubber floor playing area that is equipped with an air-conditioning system and another outdoor playing area that will include several games for children, canteen, clinic, staff room, meeting room, and waiting room for parents, among other facilities, Lootah said.
He said the municipality’s move is in line with the green development strategy launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and aligned with the national initiative launched in 2012 that aims to make the UAE one of the leading countries in green economy and an export and re-export hub for green products.
