Dubai: Designs of a Dh1-billion residential complex in the emirate of Sharjah were unveiled by the Shaikh Zayed Housing Programme as part of the government plans to provide accommodation to citizens.

Officials said the Al Sayouh ‘16’ Residential Complex is the largest housing project they have ever undertaken.

Mohammad Al Mansouri, executive director of architecture at the programme, said that the 812-unit project will be built in an area of 1.3 million square metres and will be completed by the end of 2020.

“The project master plan has been approved and the groundwork has also been completed. The creative, high-quality and energy-efficient designs of the Al Sayouh Residential Complex are the first of its kind in terms of size and architectural model to be executed under the programme. The aim is to meet the requirements of Emirati families,” he said.

“It combines a luxurious quality of life and sustainability at the same time,” he added.

The project includes 36 two-bedroom units, 46 three-bedroom units and 730 four-bedroom units.
