Abu Dhabi — The Emirates Association for Lawyers and Legal Consultants (EALL) opened the Emirates Centre for Human Rights studies at the EALL branch in Abu Dhabi.

The move coincides with Human Rights Day, which falls on December 10.

The centre was opened by Zayed Saeed Al Shamsi, Chairman of EALL.

Tarek Al Shamsi, director-general of the centre, said that the step epitomises efforts to spread a culture of human rights among lawyers and legal consultants.

Al Shamsi said that the UAE adopts a practical and comprehensive vision to improve human rights conditions, stemming from its faith and conviction that people are the core of development.

He added that the UAE is working on respecting and bolstering the principle of human rights, according to the laws that go hand in hand with the UAE’s constitution and the right of people living in the UAE to live in a safe and stable environment.
