Dubai: A total of 71 Emiratis have signed employment contracts and 859 were provided job offers and preliminary approvals during a recruitment event in Dubai organised by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

The ministry said that 1,623 job seekers attended the three-day event, during which Emiratis were offered jobs in the sectors of aviation, transportation, real estate development, telecommunications and technology.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday (Tuesday), Nasser Thani Al Hameli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, said that around 693 job seekers who participated in the event did not pass the interview stage, and so they did not receive any job offers.

“The ministry, in cooperation with multiple companies, determines and analyses the reasons as to why interviewees were rejected. The ministry then comes up with solutions to quickly address the issues, such as by enrolling job seekers in vocational guidance and training programmes, if required, so that they may pass the interview stage in future opportunities offered to them,” said Al Hameli.

Al Hameli pointed out that the recruitment event witnessed the participation of 80 companies offering 707 work opportunities. He urged job seekers to take part in these events.

The next two-day recruitment event is scheduled to be held in Fujairah on February 28.
