Abu Dhabi: Around 208 children of Emirati women married to foreigners will be granted UAE citizenship.

The approval of submitted applications came during the meeting of the committee tasked with following-up on orders of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The committee’s decision comes as part of the Year of Giving, declared by Shaikh Khalifa, and to coincide with Ramadan.

The people who have been granted citizenship were found to have met the conditions and requirements set by the committee.

The meeting was chaired by Ahmad Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the committee.

Al Za’abi reaffirmed that the decision exemplifies the vision of Shaikh Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to integrate the children of Emirati women into UAE society. The decision aims to ensure the happiness and stability of their families, and deepen their loyalty to the nation. Al Za’abi also hailed the continued follow-up and prudent directives of Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, which had a great impact in allowing the committee to fulfil its goals.
