Dubai: The Dubai Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) has announced that Eid Al Adha sacrifices will cost Dh500 in the UAE and Dh350 outside the UAE for animals slaughtered through charitable organisations.

Eid Al Adha will be celebrated on October 3.

The slaughtering will be done on the first three days of Eid Al Adha. Supervisors from IACAD and charitable organisations will oversee the process.

The prices were determined following IACAD’s meeting with representatives and chairmen of charitable societies and humanitarian establishments in Dubai and the northern emirates.

The discussions included determining prices, process of buying, procedures of slaughter outside the country and how the meat will be donated to the needy.

In 2013, the sacrifices made rose to 4,800 from 750 in 2012. The number of sacrifices outside the UAE is expected to reach 8,000 this year.
