Dubai: After taking to Facebook with racy pictures of semi-clad women, massage parlours in Dubai are now using Whatsapp to reach out to their customers.
“I am not sure how they got my number but it was really annoying. I have now blocked the sender,” said Indian Cyril Lobo who got a message from a woman named ‘Viola’ last week from an unknown number starting with +237, asking him to call her. “I checked up online and found that the number is from Cameroon but the message could have any other origin,” he said. “It’s disturbing,” said another man who got a similar message.
Last week XPRESS reported how several massage centres have started putting up magnetic ‘business’ cards with names and numbers on car doors to attract new clients.
“This was a move away from the ‘traditional’ business cards the parlours used in the past but with whatsapp now it seems they have taken it all to a whole new level. They can breach our privacy with lewd pcitures of women anytime they want till we block them manually,” said Areesh Misra another expat who received a similar message on his smartphone a couple of weeks back.
