Dubai: There’s one more day left (Tuesday) for lucky safe motorists in Dubai to be spotted in the Porsche RoadStar campaign.

The second day of the Porsche RoadStar campaign resulted in awarding eight safe drivers as part of the 32nd edition in Dubai on Monday.

The biannual Porsche RoadStar campaign will continue until Thursday. The RoadStar car has been touring Dubai looking for safe drivers and will move to Sharjah on Wednesday and Thursday.

The campaign promotes safe driving and rewards drivers who adhere to traffic rules in the strictest sense, by giving them Dh1,000 and an appreciation certificate endorsed by the police of the emirate.

The eight winners of the second day were Johnson Joseph from India, Amjad Ali from Pakistan, Almark Gomez from the Philippines, Unus Majeed from India, Farukh Yar Mohammad from Pakistan, Purna Bahadur Pariyar from Nepal, Farhad Ali Khan from Pakistan and Mursaleen Khan, also from Pakistan.

A total of Dh50,000 will be given out as incentives for drivers during the campaign to continue with their safe driving habits and also encourage other road users to follow suit.

The five-day campaign is sponsored by Al Naboodah, the only distributor for Porsche in Dubai and the northern emirates, RSA Insurance, Mobil 1, Gulf News and Radio 2, and is organised by Ciel Events, in cooperation with Emirates Motor Sports Federation (EMSF).

It is also endorsed by both Dubai and Sharjah Police.
