Dubai: Dubai Metro started running normally on Tuesday morning after limited disruption on Monday affected three stations.

The disruption was caused by a truck tyre that fell on the Metro viaduct from a bridged interchange between Jebel Al and Danube stations after a road accident in the early hours of Monday.

The incident caused some damage to the track, which was repaired overnight, enabling the Metro to start normal service again on Tuesday morning at the Jebel Ali, Danube and Energy stations.

“Service started as normal on Tuesday. The repairs have been done during ‘engineering hours’ and we completed testing way before service to make sure of the safety of our passengers,” said Mohammad Yousuf Al Mudharreb, director of operations at the RTA’s Rail Agency.
