Dubai: A breast cancer awareness camp will be held on October 30 at the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) auditorium.

The non-profit initiative has been organised by the Authority and aims to raise awareness about breast cancer and educate women about the disease. As part of the event, organisers will distribute educational booklets which will illustrate self-detection methods.

“Health studies indicate that the highest number of breast cancer cases appears in women above 40, and 64 per cent of cases in the UAE are detected at advanced stages of the diseases. Breast cancer is curable if detected early enough. So we want to focus on the importance of regular self-examination as a precaution against breast cancer,” said Saud Al Mazroui, director of HFZA and Sharjah Airport International Free Zone.
