Dubai: One of the pilots of the record-breaking Solar Impulse 2 will speak publicly for the first time since making aviation history at the Global Solar Leaders’ Summit in Dubai in September. Dr Bertrand Piccard will narrate the sun-powered plane’s flight and the future of clean energy.

The plane, which took off from Abu Dhabi earlier this year, has logged 110 hours, flying 7,200km across the Pacific from Japan to Hawaii — the longest time ever spent in the air. The summit will take place on September 14 alongside Gulf Sol 2015.
