Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi City Municipality announced it has removed 92 unlicensed farms at Al Wathba and other suburban areas as part of a campaign carried out by Al Wathba Municipal Center aimed at removing all unlicensed buildings.

The campaign is part of efforts by the municipality to conserve and protect the environment from practices that do not comply with environment standards.

“Unlicensed farms have a negative bearing on the environment and distort the general appearance as they lack the applicable health stipulations and safety standards. [Warnings] were served to owners of [the unlicensed] farms as per the procedures in place, and as some owners were unresponsive, legal action was taken to remove 92 such farms at Al Wafia, north Wathba, and Al Kherima,” said Mohammad Al Mansouri, manager of Al Wathba Municipal Centre.

The campaign by the municipality targets unlicensed houses and buildings, and are part of efforts to rid the capital and its suburbs of installations which pose a threat to the safety of the community.
