Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Dr Stephen Wells, President of the Desert Research Institute (DRI) in the US state of Nevada, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Sharjah Research Academy and DRI.
The MoU aims to support desert research in the emirate of Sharjah and the UAE, along with protecting natural and environmental life and increasing plant and livestock production under different desert conditions.
Dr Shaikh Sultan stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between scientific research centres and institutes to maintain environmental life and achieve sustainable development.
