Abu Dhabi: A two-day fun-filled festival on the sustainability to raise awareness among the community, will be held on January 19 at Masdar City in the capital.

Apart from food and live entertainment activities, the festival will offer people souq, innovation zone, food trucks and sustainability-themed educational games. It will also include Shaikh Zayed corner to honour UAE’s founding father and celebrate 2018 as the Year of Zayed.

In a statement on Sunday, Masdar, said, it’s going to be memorable final two days at this year’s Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, which started in the capital on Saturday [January 13-20].

There will be different experience zones including a souq selling local and organic produce as well as an innovation hub filled with high-tech gadgets.

There will be a carnival atmosphere throughout the Masdar City podium, while food, games and activities will be on offer down at the newly renovated Masdar Park, including fitness workouts and a virtual reality experience.

Dr Lamya Fawwaz, executive director of brand and strategic initiatives at Masdar, said, “We look forward to engaging with the community and families during the festival. We will be celebrating the Year of Zayed with a focus on Shaikh Zayed’s commitment to sustainability as inspiration for future generations.”

Entry is free to the festival at Masdar City and will be open on Friday from 10am to 10pm and on Saturday from 10am to 8pm.
