Abu Dhabi: People interested in exploring Al Wathba Wetland Reserve are encouraged to preregister for the visits on the website (www.ead.ae) of the Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi (EAD). The visits are strictly by appointment only to control the number of visitors. This helps the EAD to manage the reserve and ensure protection and preservation of flora and fauna. After determining the number of visitors, EAD’s eco-reserve team will contact the registered applicants and update them about their trip.
Upon arrival at the reserve, visitors have the opportunity to check in at the newly built Visitor Experience Centre, watch a short movie about the significance of Al Wathba Wetland Reserve and then embark on one of the self-guided trails. The trails with interpretive signage also lead to the bird observation enclosure. Visitors also have the opportunity to explore the reserve’s natural terrains and familiarise themselves with the various bird species. Additional facilities such as restrooms and parking spaces have also been integrated within the eco-reserve for the convenience of visitors.
