Lieutenant Colonel Hamid Al Afari, Director of Bani Yas Police Station at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ), said the incident took place after the man’s vehicle became stuck in the sand while he was on a desert safari.
The man reaches the surface.
He reportedly went looking for wooden planks to free the vehicle’s tyres when he suddenly fell into the well, without realising he had trespassed onto the farm, which was located between Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
A farmhand heard M.N.’s cries for help and called the authorities.
After the rescue, the man was transferred to Al Mafraq Hospital.
The man's cries were heardbe a farmhand.
Police urged residents to call the 999 emergency hotline whenever they faced such difficulties, instead of trying to resolve the issue themselves and putting themselves in danger.
Earlier this year, the Abu Dhabi GHQ signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Royal Jet, a private jet operator, to handle Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing’s search and rescue operations.
