Ajman: Six people suffered minor smoke inhalation when a fire broke out in an Ajman residential building on Sunday evening.
Brigadier Saleh Saeed Al Matroushi, Director of Ajman Civil Defence, said the fire started in electrical rooms in the fourth, fifth and sixth floors of the building in Al Rashidiya area.
The operations room received a call about the fire at 10.41pm.
Civil Defence, rescue and ambulance teams rushed to the scene. The building was evacuated, and the teams prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring flats.
Ambulances rushed the six people to Shaikh Khalifa Hospital, and ambulances on the scene attended to 18 cases, who required first aid.
