Ras Al Khaimah: An eight-year-old boy was killed after his 28-year-old brother accidentally ran him over as he reversed the family vehicle out of the garage on Monday afternoon.
The incident took place in Al Mamurah area of Ras Al Khaimah.
The elder brother did not realise that his sibling was playing near the garage as he entered the vehicle. As he reversed the vehicle out of the garage, his brother who was standing behind it, came under the wheels. The elder brother did not realise what had happened and was only alerted by the screams of other family members.
He stopped the vehicle and opened the door to find his younger brother lying unconscious and bleeding on the ground.
The elder brother then rushed the child to hospital, but the boy died shortly after being admitted, police said.
Ras Al Khaimah Police are investigating the case.
