Ajman: Ajman Police rescued an eight-year-old Asian girl who was left behind in her school bus by the driver.

The girl claimed that she fell asleep on the way to the educational institute  and when she woke up she found she was alone in the bus. The driver sexually  abused her, and he left for his home after closing the windows and doors of the bus, she told police, according to Colonel Ali Jaber Al Shamsi, Director of Ajman police stations 

However, the Asian driver denied the girl’s statement and said he failed to notice that the girl had stayed behind in the bus when he dropped off the rest of the students in a private institute in Ajman.

The incident took place on Wednesday morning.

Police received a call from a man who said he had spotted a girl in a  bus parked in Liwara area in Ajman. The girl was found terrified and in tears inside the bus.

A police team reached the area and rescued the girl. She was then taken to the Police Support Centre and her parents were contacted.

The educational institute’s officials said the bus doesn’t have a supervisor or a camera.

The case is still under police investigation.

Meanwhile, the manger of the private institute identified by his initial as P.K. told Gulf News that the bus where the incident occurred belong to a rental company. It does not have CCTV although other buses do.

He pointed out that the bus and the driver work for a rental company .

“It’s a minibus with a capacity of 30 passengers,” he said

The girl joined the private institute one year ago. She was studying computer language.
