Sharjah: Two Asian men died in separate accidents early Sunday, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News.

In the first incident, a Pakistani man in his 40s died after being run over by an ambulance on Al Madam-Dubai Road.

The incident happened when the ambulance was transferring a patient from an accident site. The victim was among a group of people standing on the road and watching the accident.

The victim, S.H., had several broken bones and was admitted to Al Dhaid Hospital’s ICU where he died shortly after admission.

The ambulance driver who caused the incident has been taken into police custody for questioning.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old Afghan was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a road barrier on Al Ittihad Road early Sunday.

The police operations room received call at around 4.30am reporting the incident.

The body was moved to the hospital.

Sharjah Police urged motorists to adhere to speed limits on the road.
