Sharjah: A Bangladeshi man on a transit through the UAE collapsed at Sharjah International Airport and died on Tuesday.

The 44-year-old man was travelling from Iraq to Bangladesh via Sharjah.

The man, identified as P.M.A., was rushed to Al Qasimi Hospital in Sharjah but was pronounced dead  on arrival, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News on Wednesday.

The body was taken to the hospital by national ambulance.

An official source at the hospital told Gulf News they are still trying to ascertain the cause of the man’s death.

The body was transferred to the forensic laboratory to determine the cause of death, the official added

The airport police is investigating the incident.

“We were informed Bangladeshi embassy officials would come and receive the body of the deceased and hand him over to his family.” the official added.
