Ras Al Khaimah: A 20-year-old Emirati man died and three others were injured in a horrific accident involving four vehicles on Masafi-Fujairah Road on Tuesday evening.

Colonel Ali Saeed Al Elkum, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department of Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the accident occurred when the Emirati driver, identified as A.A.A., was driving on the two-way Masafi-Fujairah Road, and tried to overtake the car in front of him by driving into a lane of oncoming traffic. He was with his friend, a 20-year-old Emirati identified as R.M.A.

The other Emirati driver, A.K.A., 20, who was driving in the right lane on the opposite side, hit A.A. A. despite his effort to avoid the collision. A.A.A.’s vehicle swerved and was hit by two water trucks, Col Al Elkum said.

As a result of the accident, the Emirati passenger, R. M. A., 20, died on the spot while A. A. A. and the two truck drivers sustained minor injuries.
