Sharjah: The body of a missing man has been found stuck between rocks in the sea off Sharjah. Police divers found the body at around 4pm.

Police were searching for a 20-year-old Emirati man on Saturday after one of his colleagues was pulled out of the water in a rescue mission, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News.

The accident happened on Saturday night. The man’s body was found on Sunday.

Rescue boats fanned out off Al Hamriya beach in search of the lost man who was identified as M.E.A.R.

The police were called when two Emirati men got into trouble in the sea following a jet ski accident. One man was rescued from the sea and was taken to hospital where his condition is described as critical.

Police ordered swimmers out of the water as they began a search for the missing man. The Police Air wing also took part in the search.

Meanwhile, family members and relatives of the lost man gathered on the shore and prayed that he was found.

Police urged people not to enter the sea if they cannot swim.

There have been several drownings in the water of Sharjah, especially in summer, due to jet ski accidents or drowning incidents as people ignore safety instructions.
