Nearly 3,090 drivers were fined and 360 vehicles seized by Dubai Police at Global Village from November 2016 until April 2017, police said on Monday.

Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, director of Traffic Department in Dubai Police, said that police patrols were all the time at the scene to provide smooth traffic in the area.

He said that there were 192 minor traffic accidents in the area around the village.

“We were round-the-clock in the area and our patrols issued 3,090 traffic offences and seized 360 vehicles which were wanted for many traffic fines. It was a positive traffic plan this year despite the huge number of people who attended the village this year compared to previous years,” Brigadier Al Mazroui said.
