Abu Dhabi: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Henley and Partners, with the support of the International Humanitarian City in Dubai, hosted a dinner that raised over Dh730,000 for Syrian refugees in the Middle East and North Africa last week.

The funds were raised through an auction of valuable items, including an antique handmade carpet that was generously donated by Shaikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and UNHCR’s eminent advocate.

Artissima gallery also donated an art piece as part of the auction. The proceeds of the auction and dinner were allocated to ensure the protection of refugees by safeguarding registration.
