Dubai: Thirty-eight golf carts went up in flames on Tuesday afternoon after a covered parking lot for the carts caught fire, police said.

No injuries were reported. The fire erupted at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon and caused traffic jams around the area, as police asked the motorists to give a way to firefighters and emergency vehicles.

Dubai Civil Defence spokesperson told Gulf News that blaze erupted at about 4.15pm and sent the club’s garage up in flames, a total of torching 38 golf carts in the process.
It was not immediately clear what triggered the fire, but an official said it affected only the shaded area used as golf carts' parking lot.
“It is a minor fire involving golf carts inside the club,” the spokesperson told Gulf News.
The official said firefighters rushed to the scene, reaching it within 15 minutes, and managed put out the flames 5.06pm.
