Dubai: A 19-year-old Emirati man died after he lost control of his vehicle, which then overturned on Tuesday afternoon.
Brigadier Saeed Hamad Bin Sulaiman, director of Al Rashidiya police station, said the teen, identified as M.A.A., was driving on the right lane of the two-lane Nawakshot Street when the accident happened.
“The operations room received a call about the accident at around 2.15pm. Patrols rushed to the scene, where it was apparent that the driver lost control of the vehicle due to his high speed and suddenly swerved,” he said.
The car went off the road on to the sand on the right side of the road, and flipped over for a distance of 200 metres.
The man died on the spot.
