Ras Al Khaimah:  A 19-year-old Emirati woman succumbed to her injuries after the car she was travelling in rammed into a heavy truck parked at the side of the Suhaila Road in front of Saqar Park in Ras Al Khaimah on Sunday afternoon.

Three of her brothers sustained serious injuries, Brigadier Ghanem Ahmad Ghanem, Director General of the Central Operations Room at Ras Al Khaimah Police,said.

Brig Ghanem said the 18-year-old brother, identified as S.R.A., was driving the car, is blamed for the accident.

“He was driving the car along with his three siblings on the right side of the Suhaila Road when suddenly his cell phone fell down (in the car's floor).”

Trying to pick up his mobile phone, he lost control of the steering wheel, veered off the road, and collided with an idle heavy truck parked at the roadside, he said.
