Dubai: Several Indian schools in the UAE have achieved 100 per cent pass rates at the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) class 10 results announced on Saturday.

A total of 1,491,293 students appeared for class 10 examination this year, an increase of about 8.5 per cent over last year, including more than 3,000 students from the UAE.

This year 96.21 per cent of students passed, down from 97.32 per cent who passed last year.

Once again, girls scored higher with an average score of 96.36 per cent while boys averaged 96.11 per cent.

Topping the grading system with A1 in all five subjects, 168,541 students who scored a full CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 10 points, 85,316 of whom are boys and 83,225 are girls.

In Dubai, the Indian High School Dubai (HIS) sent the highest number of students for the class 10 exams. Of 721 boys and girls, 114 students have scored a CGPA of 10.

The IHS, which is among several schools which achieved a 100 per cent pass result, has 46.6 per cent or 336 of its students scoring a CGPA of nine and above.

More than 70 per cent or 511 students of the IHS have scored a CGPA of eight and above.

Congratulating the students and teachers, Ashok Kumar, CEO of IHS Dubai, said: “There has been an almost 100 per cent increase in the number of students securing CGPA 10 compared to last year’s result. Indian High School has done extremely well once again and this is due to the hard work of our teachers, students and parents.”

Delhi Private School (DPS) Dubai, which had 260 students appearing for the class 10 exams also declared 100 per cent results.

Around 20 per cent or 52 of DPS Dubai students secured the perfect CGPA of 10 points, while 115 students have secured a CGPA between 9 and 9.8.

The school has scored an average CGPA of 9 points.

In Sharjah, out of 407 students who appeared for the CBSE exams, 100 students of Delhi Private School (DPS) Sharjah have scored a perfect CGPA of 10 points.

The school averaged 9 CGPA points, with 100 per cent pass result.

Similarly, out of 280 Class 10 students at Emirates National School Sharjah, 49 scored a CGPA of 10 points.

The school secured 100 per cent pass rate, with nearly half of its students scoring above 70 per cent.

At India International School Sharjah three students secured a CGPA of 10 points out of the total of 113 students, with a 100 per cent pass rate.

In Abu Dhabi, Emirates Future International Academy, Musaffah, also recorded 100 per cent pass results, with 24 of its students attaining a CGPA of 10 points.
