Dubai: The Ministry of Education formed groups to support students with special needs as well as gifted students.
Fawzia Garib, Assistant Undersecretary of Educational Operations at the ministry, said the education zones were instructed to make strategic plans to support this category.
She said the ministry has activated a link for the special education category, which will be used to enter data of students with special needs into the student data system to identify their needs. Fawzia said identifying their needs and informing administrate staff about these will help integrate them into mainstream schooling and raise awareness about students with special needs. Awareness among students will also be raised through lectures, games, competitions, cartoon workshops and films, Fawzia said.
