Dubai: The Mohammad Bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development has launched a year-long programme called Impactful Leaders programme, dedicated to providing leadership training to a number of outstanding students.

The programme will focus on the areas of the leadership mindset, commitment, passion and creativity, within an intensive and comprehensive framework.

The participating students were selected from over 1,000 ambitious young Emiratis, who exhibit great leadership potential, and who are working in both the public and private sectors.

The Impactful Leadership is the first programme to launch under the Mohammad Bin Rashid Leadership Framework, based on the new approach of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development.

The centre seeks to consolidate the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make the UAE one of the most advanced countries in the world by 2071, under the UAE Centennial 2071 goals.

The Impactful Leaders programme, which will run for one year, was designed in collaboration with three international universities — UC Berkeley, the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland and Imperial College London — incorporating global trends in leadership development.

The programme includes two educational training trips outside the UAE, which will allow participants to learn about the most relevant global trends within the scope of the UAE’s priority sectors.

The Mohammad Bin Rashid Leadership Framework aims to develop eight key competencies: diversity and engagement, strategic prospecting, global citizenship, progressive thinking, passion and commitment, value creation, human first, and curiosity and flexibility.

The framework also seeks to develop the competencies and abilities of young Emirati leaders in the fields of creative thinking, developing their abilities and skills to keep pace with the latest developments. The framework is based on learning through live experiences, which reflect the realities and the challenges of our time.

The Mohammad Bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development will use this framework to create a comprehensive learning process centred around the concept of learning through experience and application, as well as of learning from peers and senior leaders in state institutions.

Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future and chairman of The Executive Office of Dubai, said: “The training of leaders involves an integrated and comprehensive approach, combining theory, success in global experiences, local needs assessments and practical experience in the field. Psychological, moral and intellectual development are essential traits in leaders, who need to confidently meet the rapid changes and challenges of the future.”
