Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, attended the signing of an agreement on Wednesday for establishing a Dh10 million professorship at the university in the name of Abdullah Al Shakra.
The agreement was signed by Abdullah Al Shakra, Chairman of Al Hanoo Holding, and Dr Hamid Al Nuaimi, deputy director of the university.
The agreement stipulates that Al Hanoo Holding will fund the chair in the University of Sharjah with Dh10 million as a contribution to the enrichment of research and education activities and the sustainable development and building of roads, water and environmental projects.
Al Nuaimi expressed his pride at the setting up of the chair named after Abdullah Al Shakra, a very successful businessman whose real estate investments helped drive forward the urban development and progress of Sharjah.
