The CBSE results for Class 12 will be announced on Sunday, sources told Gulf News.

The results, which were originally expected to be announced on Wednesday, were deferred following a Delhi high court order that asked the CBSE to retain its marks moderation policy which the board had decided to scrap recently.

The board was consequently planning to approach the Supreme Court on the matter but has now decided not to as this would mean a further delay in announcing the results.

Last year, the CBSE declared the Grade 12 results ten days ahead of schedule on May 20, in a welcome departure giving students a head start in clinching university seats in the United Kingdom and United States.

This was made possible due to the strategic intervention of the CBSE, Regional Office Delhi (ROD) in collaboration with the Indian consulates and embassies and 11 hub-in-charges in the Gulf region who coordinated to ensure a seamless flow of answer-sheets to Delhi.

Over 8,000 students from the UAE sat for the CBSE exams last year.

The CBSE said that, as per previous this years, this year the results will be hosted online. Students can access results through the following websites: www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in.

Results will not be available at the CBSE and the public are advised not to visit the CBSE offices to collect results.

The process of verification will be displayed on the CBSE's website.

There will be no official press conference and the result highlights will be sent out via e-mail.
